Step-by-Step Guide to Suggesting a Title

  1. Visit the Vernon Free Library’s Aspen Discovery catalog and log in to your patron account. Your user name is the barcode on your library card. You were given a password or PIN when you signed up for your library card. If we have your current email address on file, you can set a new password yourself. Otherwise, you will need to call the library at 802-257-4949
  2. Requests: Navigate to your My Account section. On the menu or dashboard, find and click on Purchase Suggestions.
  3. Start a New Request: Click the button to create a New Materials Request.
  4. Fill in the details: Enter the book’s information. You only need to provide the Title and Item Type, but you can also include the Author, ISBN, and any notes.
  5. Submit: Click Submit Request to send your suggestion directly to the library staff for review.

Alternatively, if you search for a book in the Aspen Discovery catalog at the Vernon Free Library and the library does not own it, a materials request link will appear at the bottom of the search results, letting you easily suggest it.
